B.
I think this question is designed to mainly refer us to the discussion of the role of gadgets in today's children's lives. If it's so, I believe that the penetration of gadgets and multiple digital solutions in the modern children's lives didn't bring more happiness to it, but somehow deprived it of boredom and big amount of free time kids used to have in the pre-digital era. And thus deprived them from so called "wandering mind" that historically provoked in young people research inclinations and activities.

I'm not saying that the relatively more time alone with ourselves that we used to have in our pre-digital childhoods made us happier, but it definitely made us more free and eager to explore the real life and enjoy "touching the grass" activities. Anyway, I'm glad I'm old.

G.
Wether to try to transform your lovely fulling hobby into your career significantly depends on its financial and other self-realization-related perspectives (like benefits package, building important social bonds, promotion opportunities, insured stability etc.).
In my personal case all of the listed prerequisites unfortunately seem to give me very low chances to carry on this career transformation.
Besides that, the amount of inner motivation and aspiration such a transformation may require is enormous,
and as the financial and social risks increase, it only grows.

H.
Yes, once I had happened to have a cold fish boss. Mine was very emotionally-restrained and dry, closed and unsociable.
Since then I consider the experience of interaction with such people as one of the most valuable social experiences in life because having faced with it you have to obtain a whole social toolkit. First, you have to learn not to perceive his/her pokerface and very restrained (if not hostile) reactions as the constructive feedback of your work's results. Meaningless emotions should not be overscored and taken closely. Second, it's good to learn within this very limited palette of emotions and feedbacks how to identify meaningful (both positive and negative) signals and to react back properly, giving the required results.
Well, if you have enough patience to adapt to such communication style, a normal working process can be built.
